MATT RANATZA FARM

Matt Ranatza is a third-generation farmer based in Belle Chasse. In 1937, Matt’s grandfather grew the first Creole tomatoes. The farm has expanded to include local favorites including cauliflower, cucumbers, squash, zucchini and of course Creole tomatoes. They grow a variety developed at LSU for warm, humid areas. These Creole tomatoes tolerate heat and humidity, with high yields of juicy fruit that resist cracking, and ripening into a meatier-than-average tomato with outstanding flavor.
