It All Starts With Soil!
Good soil is the basis of the health of your garden and our Laughing Buddha Nursery soil brand, Bag of Plenty™, offers micro batches of the highest quality garden soil.
Our Bag of Plenty™ soil blends, produced on our North Shore acreage, Local Cooling Farms, are formulated to have an ideal structure, macronutrients, micronutrients, and beneficial microorganisms for growing plants in our region. Whether you’re starting seeds, transplanting, starting a vegetable bed or landscaping a large project, we have a product suited for your plants. Soil blends are available in one cubic foot bags and one cubic yard super sack totes.
Raised Bed Mix
Our main soil blend is formulated to deliver the optimal drainage, balanced pH, nutrients and microbiology for a long-lasting soil biome. Amendments provide macro and micronutrients for great long-term results.
Ingredients: Compost, aged pine bark, worm castings, crab meal, fermented alfalfa meal and bio char.
While we do our best to manufacture our Raised Bed Mix for broad-spectrum use — for in ground and raised beds and large containers — we cannot guarantee proper growth or plant success, due to a litany of factors that have nothing to do with the soil.
Before you use Raised Bed Mix for a specific type of container or type of gardening (i.e. garden towers or other specialty gardening containers), please contact us to see if the Raised Bed Mix is appropriate.
We also recommend mulching and side dress fertilizing. In fact, not fertilizing properly is one of the biggest mistakes we see in beginner organic gardeners.

Pick Up Options
Cubic yard and cubic foot bags are available at Local Cooling Farms south of Bogalusa. Northshore pick up at the farm is by appointment Tuesdays through Saturdays, 7:30 am to 3 pm. Call Grant directly to set your appointment — (504) 234-3564. This ensures we will not be on the other end of the farm when you arrive and we have soil ready to load.
We have shifted most Southshore soil pickups to Delta Sod in Jefferson, where they sell cubic foot bags and cubic yard bags (supersacks) of our raised bed mix. Call Delta Sod to arrange pick up for bulk soil — (504) 733-0471.
At the shop in Metairie, we are only offering cubic foot bags through preorder - call or text Grant directly at (504) 234-3564.
Delivery Options
Delta Sod offers delivery of our Raised Bed Mix on the Southshore. Contact them — (504) 733-0471— to arrange.
Currently we are not providing any delivery services on the Northshore, but we are happy to coordinate with third party haulers you arrange.
