Spring Herbs & Greens, Lots of Mushrooms, Chicken, Eggs, Butter, Broth, Tofu & More!
What We Have and What’s Expected for the Week of April 7th
Place Your Orders Here!
Last week, River Queen Greens hooked us up with a bunch of spring herbs (cilantro, dill, chives and parsley), along with microgreens and head lettuce, so we're glad to have some more variety in the produce realm. And we’re getting more of everything Tuesday afternoon, plus their mesclun salad mix.
And we have an absolutely plethora of gorgeous gourmet mushrooms from Family Fungi and Screaming Oaks. Family Fungi is doing some bulk specials, so grab those while you can and then there’s also seven other varieties in quarter pound portions.
Strawberries are still bountiful with quarts and more half flats coming on Tuesday.
And A&A Acres had another rainy market last week so sent us a bunch of eggs, along with some chicken cuts! New this season are chicken skins that you can make chicken cracklins with or render for schmaltz.
We also have lots of other cuts from Pearl River Pastures and Credo Farms. We're fortunate to have lots of chicken once again after about nine months of very limited supply.
There's also beef, pork and goat meat (restocked from the freezer on Friday and finally getting another round of breakfast sausage, Italian sausage, stir fry strips and picnic roasts back from the butcher on Tuesday). There’s also hot ground breakfast sausage for the first time in a while. The spice blend is just called “hot pork,” but it has sage and I just sampled it again this weekend to confirm that it has breakfast flavors — it does! And it’s also not super spicy, just has a little red pepper compared to the mild breakfast sausage.
There's also still plenty of seafood and lots of tofu, some sale milk and heavy cream from last week, plus more coming from both Feliciana’s Best and Southern Maids on Tuesday and butter is back!
Bellegarde will deliver on Wednesday and Friday as usual and we have some frozen loaves, buns and pizza dough in the mean time.
