Late Summer Fruits & Veggies, New Herbal Teas & Tinctures, Cold Brew & Chai, Tofu, Meats & More!
What We Have and What’s Expected for the Week of August 19th
Place Your Orders Here!
Alrighty, I must admit that we are starting the week with the produce selection a little slim! But that’s just because we were busy on Saturday and we like to cycle stuff out this time of year especially so you’re getting the freshest fruits and veggies.
We should get some more sugar baby watermelons tomorrow, along with cucumbers, eggplant, okra, peaches, peppers and more. And maybe more muscadine grapes later in the week — the ones we got last week were absolutely delicious!
We are getting better and better at utilizing all the features of Local Line 2.0, so now in addition to the sale items populating in their own category, we also added some tags to new items and staff favorites and those are in their own category at the bottom of the category filter options. Make sure to check those out!
Late last week, we restocked cold brew, chai concentrate and simple syrups from Church Alley as well as ground coffee and coffee beans from Flamjeaux, so there’s plenty of caffeine options!
And in addition to fresh mushrooms from Family Fungi, we got some new herbal tea blends -- a digestive tea and two women's blend teas with raspberry leaf. One is specifically for pregnant women and one is for women's health in general. We also stocked their new Mineral Manna Oxymel with herbs and electrolytes for overall wellness.
Plus there's plenty of eggs (with more sale pullet eggs on their way tomorrow), grassfed and pastured meats, Southern Maids dairy products, biscuits to bake at home, granola, jams and jellies, pickles and ferments, kombucha, rice, grits, fresh pasta, stone-milled flour, coffee, herbal teas, seasonings, salts, honey and maple syrup and more.
Feliciana’s Best will restock us tomorrow by midday or so and that’s when we’ll get more produce, too. Bellegarde will deliver fresh bread and buns on Wednesday and Friday as usual.
I said this last week, but Nur’s Kitchen should be back open with hummus this week for real this time!
And in addition to the meats we have, we will do another freezer restock this week to get more ground beef, pork chops and other fan favorites that are already running out again.

Here's the full list breakdown of all our grocery categories:
Donations for Mutual Aid: The top of the storefront includes our mutual aid shares. Right now you can contribute $5 for egg, meat or produce shares and we’ll tally them up and drop off meat and produce to New Orleans Community Fridge locations around the city. Hunter did another sizable produce drop off on Saturday that included delicata squash, cucumbers, yellow bell and shishito peppers, apples, fairy tale eggplant and red okra.
Pastured Eggs: Once again, we are starting the week with some eggs we got from the Little Brown Egg Farm and we will restock our pullet eggs (hopefully even more than usual!) tomorrow and throughout the week and then more Little Brown Egg Farm eggs as we need them on Thursday or Friday.
Pastured Dairy: We are starting the week stocked up on goat milk, creole cream cheese, yogurt, brined, crumbled or whipped feta, avocado goat cheese spread and two types of marinated feta. Then, we expect our usual delivery of Feliciana’s Best whole milk, heavy cream, half & half, chocolate milk and creole cream cheese on Tuesday by midday.

There’s also a few shapes of Il Supremo pasta and frozen biscuits to bake at home — three flavors, plus gluten free classic biscuits. And as usual, we expect more fresh pasta from Il Supremo on Tuesday and Thursday and fresh bread and buns from Bellegarde on Wednesday and Friday.
Local Produce: Asian pears and Gala apples, frozen blueberries, pioppino mushrooms, shishito peppers, chioggia beets, red daikon radishes and butternut squash. We should also get more peaches, cucumbers, eggplant, sweet and bell peppers, okra and possibly more watermelons, summer squash and zucchini and tomatoes on Tuesday and maybe more muscadine grapes later in the week.

Grassfed Beef: We are almost out of plain ground beef again and should be able to restock by Thursday. We do Caveman ground beef, as well, though! We’ve still got sirloin tip, top sirloin or Teres Major steaks on sale, though y’all have really been snatching those up, so we may get caught up on inventory, soon, and those will return to regular price. Take advantage of the sale now while you can! We also have hamburger and slider patties, filet, ribeyes, NY Strips, shish kebab pieces/steak bites, chuck eye, picanha, bavette, flank, skirt, Denver and flat iron steaks, plus tri tip, brisket, chuck roasts, London broil or tenderized round steaks, stew meat, short ribs and riblets/Flanken short ribs, cheeks, tongue, liver, kidney, oxtail, bones and fat for rendering.
Wild-Foraged Goat: Goat legs, shoulders, shanks, stew meat/kebab pieces and ribs are on sale, plus there’s neck roasts and bones, too. We are due to bring some more in for harvest and restock ground goat and chops especially!
Pastured Poultry: Whole chickens, leg quarters, feet, backs and necks at the moment. It’s still going to be a few more weeks before we can restock breasts and wings from Mahaffey’s first fall batch of chickens.
Gulf Seafood: We’ve got sheepshead, red grouper or red snapper filets, smoked amber jack and red snapper collars and soft-shell crabs. Aiming to restock shrimp and other fish this week!
Coffee & Tea: Restocked this whole category with cold brew, chai concentrate and simple syrups from Church Alley, ground coffee and beans from Flamjeaux and new and favorite herbal teas from Family Fungi.

And there's several varieties of South of Eden's herbal tinctures, plus Lion's Mane, Reishi or Turkey Tail mushroom tinctures and the Remedy Tincture, combining several kinds of mushroom extractions in one.
