What We Have and What’s Expected for the Week of October 7th
Place Your Orders Here!
After a long summer, now it really is starting to feel like fall in the local produce realm.
We got another round of River Queen salad greens last week and then Compostella's first delivery of the season, as well.
Plus we added speciality blends of microgreens from a new grower, NOLA Funny Farm in Lakeview!
Besides some fun mixes, there's also cilantro and cantaloupe microgreens that make wonderful garnishes, additions to salads, sandwiches and more. We all but sold out of the first round fast, but are expecting more on Tuesday.
And we also restocked seafood once again, including all sizes of shrimp.
Besides the salad greens, River Queen brought more basil and mint, plus Cicada Calling Farm brought gorgeous and sweet Suyo cucumbers, garlic chives and roselle hibiscus.
And from Paul Becnel Farm, we have the first persimmons of the season. The fuyu variety is my favorite, can be eaten even when not overly ripe and just has the sweetest, honey like flavor notes.
We also have plenty of dairy from Southern Maids, frozen bread and buns from Bellegarde, along with crostini, croutons and pizza dough and a good amount of hummus from Nur’s Kitchen.
As usual, we will stock up on more of our Local Cooling Farms eggs on Tuesday and Feliciana’s Best Dairy will be delivered on Tuesday by midday or so.
