Place Your Orders Here!
While the produce list is shorter than it is other times during the year, that doesn’t mean it still isn’t a great time to eat local. You just really have to lean in to recipes featuring okra, eggplant and various peppers, especially!
Figs have mostly wrapped up for now (there’s sometimes a later crop of different varieties and melons look like they’re mostly done, too, but we are lucky to still have peaches, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, sweet corn, beets and radishes to add some variety to the mix, too!
And there’s plenty of variety in the protein department with lots of grassfed beef and goat meat, pastured pork and chicken, Gulf seafood, tofu and tempeh.
Southern Maids restocked us with goat dairy as usual and more Feliciana’s Best is coming tomorrow (Tuesday) by midday.
Plus there’s hummus and pesto, rice and grits and heirloom grains and stone-milled flours, salts and seasonings, jams and jellies, coffee, cold brew, chai and herbal teas, pickles and ferments, granola and more!

Pastured Eggs: We’re a little low on eggs again as we wait for the pullets to start laying in earnest and keep our bakery and restaurant customers happy, too, so if we don’t have enough of our eggs this week, we will source from the Little Brown Egg Farm again, expecting those deliveries on Tuesday and Thursday by midday.
Pastured Dairy: We have all the goat dairy products like fresh milk, creole cream cheese, yogurt, brined, crumbled or whipped feta and two types of marinated feta. Our delivery from Feliciana’s Best is expected by Tuesday midday/early afternoon and will include whole milk in gallons and half gallons, half & half, heavy cream, chocolate milk and creole cream cheese. Butter had been limited, but we order more every week in case they do have it!
Bread & Pasta: Our Bellegarde deliveries are Wednesday and Friday this week as usual and in the mean time to start the week. We are expecting more fresh pasta on Tuesday and Thursday, as well. We may get a big Shreveport Biscuit Company delivery this week, too, stay tuned!
Local Produce: Peaches, beefsteak and cherry tomatoes, sweet corn, Japanese or Italian eggplant, banana, lunch box, shishito or yellow bell peppers, green okra, chioggia or gold beets, pink or purple daikon radishes, sweet potatoes, fresh garlic or aged black garlic. And we’re expecting more heirloom tomatoes, English cucumbers, butternut squash and maybe even the first Asian pears of the season tomorrow!
Plant-Based Protein: Four types of tempeh, plus two flavors of tofu, with more plain tofu coming on Tuesday.
Forest-Raised Pork: Continuing our sale on cured bacon ends and extra large picnic shoulder roasts, plus thick-cut sliced bacon, Boston butt roasts, jowl, spare ribs, stew meat, smoked hocks, ground pork, bratwurst, breakfast links and bulk sausage, Cajun sausage links, chorizo, hot pork links, Italian links and bulk sausage, liver, feet/trotters, bones and lard.
Grassfed Beef: After another restock late last week, there’s so much variety in beef cuts right now! We’ve got the four sale steaks (NY Strip, teres major, top sirloin and sirloin tip), plus ground beef in 1 lb or 2 lb packs as well as Caveman ground beef blend (which has liver and heart in the grind). And there’s also more ribeyes, teres major roasts, shish kebab pieces/steak bites, chuck eye, picanha, Babette, skirt, Denver and flat iron steaks, tri tip, brisket, London broil, tenderized round steaks, eye of round roasts, short ribs or flank/Korean style short ribs, osso bucco shanks, cheeks, tongue, liver, heart, kidney, oxtail, bones and fat to render!
Wild-Foraged Goat: About ready to bring some more goats to the processor so we can restock ground goat and chops. In the meantime, it’s a perfect time to try some other cuts since they’re almost all on sale. We added leg and shoulder roasts to the sale this week, joining shanks, ribs and boneless stew meat/kebabs.
Pastured Poultry: Whole chickens, leg quarters, feet, backs and necks at the moment. Unfortunately, it’s looking like we won’t be getting more chicken breasts until the fall season, unless we find another chicken supplier in the mean time.
Gulf Seafood: We restocked seafood last week, as well, so all sizes of shrimp are back, along with soft-shell crabs! There’s also flounder, sheepshead, red grouper or red snapper filets, a few snapper taco pieces, smoked amber jack and red snapper collars.
