Strawberries Are Back! Plus Meats, Seafood, Eggs, Dairy, Citrus, Greens & More!

Despite the cold and actual SNOW, there’s some bright spots in how the local food scene made out in last week’s storm.

First, somehow, even though they’ve been covered for the cold for more than a week, Faust Farms was not only able to protect all their strawberries, but harvest and deliver them to us today!

Of course our frozen meats and seafood are all good and Compostella will even have more lettuce, Stellar Winter mix and carrots for us tomorrow. They expect a gap in greens and lost all of their broccolini, but spring starts in their hoop house did survive!

We got a lot of dairy later in the week last week, so still have some whole milk and chocolate milk left and then will get more tomorrow as usual. Southern Maids sold out of everything they had made in the days following the storm, so we won’t get another delivery from them until later in the week or next week.

There’s limited eggs from our hens and despite the high demand and wholesale commitments, we may be able to bring more on Wednesday or Thursday. We’ll try to source more from the Little Brown Egg Farm, A&A Acres, Credo Farms and/or Pearl River Pastures if not.

Plus we have lots of citrus, mushrooms, collard greens, romanesco cauliflower, radishes, sweet potatoes and staples like grits, rice, stone-milled flour, coffee and herbal teas, tinctures, elderberry syrups, honey, maple syrup and more!
