Spring Soil Season is Upon Us!
Laughing Buddha Nursery was open for about a year and half when Hurricane Katrina hit.
That threw Grant into the bulk garden soil/compost business. He could probably write an entire book about this adventure, but he says he’ll save the juicy details for his memoir that he would call “Operation Kid Co.”
The important thing is that we continue to reroute organic material away from the landfill and turn it into a product that creates jobs and offers our customers a horticultural solution.
How much organic matter do we recycle at Local Cooling Farms? Currently, it’s about 1.5 million pounds annually. If we have our way we’ll be at 3 million this year or next.
Much of that amount is being applied to the farm land to rebuild the soil, but you can also be a part as well by applying it to your farm, garden or homestead.
