Tips for Getting
the Freshest Groceries
Place your order the evening before the day you plan to pick up, or even the morning of your pick up day. Since we receive deliveries daily from farmers and producers, this ensures you are shopping the most recent deliveries and freshest items. For example, if you order on a Tuesday evening for Saturday pick up, you will be shopping produce that arrived Tuesday morning, not necessarily items that will be delivered closer to your pick up day. See our list of weekly deliveries for which day your favorite products are delivered each week.
For same day pick up at our store in Metairie, place your order before 2 pm.
For afternoon/evening neighbor hubs and deliveries (Algiers Point, Bywater, Covington, Lakeview, Mandeville, Mid-City & Uptown), the deadline to order is 12 pm the day of pick up, with the exception of Uptown which is 11 am due to the earlier start time.
For morning hubs and deliveries (Carrollton & Irish Channel), the deadline to order is 4 pm the day before the pick up day. So Thursday at 4 pm for Irish Channel and Friday at 4 pm for Carrollton.
Please wait until you receive a finalized invoice via email to login into your account and pay the invoice. Receiving the finalized invoice indicates that we have packed your order and have entered the exact weights of meats and produce sold by the pound. (And you pay for exactly what you get, not the average placeholder weights shown in the cart.) You can also swipe a card or pay cash or check in person upon pick up at the shop. For neighborhood hub pick ups and deliveries, credit card payments should be made online prior to pick up or delivery.
Our store is open Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 6pm.

Weekly Deliveries from Local Farms
Use the guide below to know when to place your order for limited items like bread and dairy, and to get the freshest items delivered each week.
Farm fresh eggs from our own farm, Local Cooling Farms, are brought down daily/as needed, usually Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Our pork, beef and goat from Local Cooling Farms is processed by USDA inspected butchers, flash frozen and delivered frozen to our warehouse freezer in Elmwood. We restock weekly or every other week, as needed, to offer the greatest variety of cuts available, usually on Fridays.
We offer Louisiana raised pastured chicken via local food distributor, JV Foods, which delivers to us several times a week. Right now, the farmer is delivering to them on Thursdays or Fridays, meaning we restock for you on Fridays or Saturdays.
Dairy and Tofu are delivered midday on Tuesdays, and are added to the online cart for shopping shortly thereafter.
Much of our produce is grown by Two Dog Farms and distributed by JV Foods. Two Dog delivers to JV on Monday and Thursdays and we receive a big delivery of produce on Tuesday mornings. We order more as needed throughout the week, depending on how much is sold. We also source seasonal fruit (berries, peaches, apples, satsumas) through JV and receive those deliveries on Tuesdays and more later in the week as needed.
Compostella Farm greens are delivered on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Poche Family Farm delivers on Tuesdays.
When available, we get mushrooms from Screaming Oaks Mushroom Farm on Thursdays.
Fresh pasta is distributed by JV Foods and comes on Tuesdays and later in the week as needed. We also source Two Brooks Farm Rice and Rice Flour, Texas Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegars through JV Foods, arriving on the same schedule.
Warm Bellgarde bread is delivered on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
Locally roasted Flamjeaux Coffee is usually delivered every other Thursday afternoon.
Tempeh, cultured cashew butters, black garlic and salt from Crescent City Cultures is delivered when batches are made and products are available.
Other products (kombucha, ferments, jams, jellies, preserves, honey, cane syrup) are made in small batches and delivered when products are available.
